1.      The warm, comforting smell of hot, cooked food filled the air.

2.     Mrs. Tan was queuing patiently in line for her turn at the noodles stall.

3.     A burly man gave Mrs. Tan a shove so that he could jump the queue.

4.     The rude man shouted vulgarities at poor Mrs. Tan.

5.     Soon, a crowd gathered to witness the heated argument between Mrs. Tan and the rude man.

6.     The burly man gave Mrs. Tan a punch on her face and she fell backwards hitting her head on the wall.

7.     Fresh, red blood oozed down from her forehead.

8.     Someone tried to mediate, but to no avail.

9.     They should not quarrel over a trivial matter.

10.   They shook hands and apologised to each other.

9. My heart thumped wildly as I quickened my pace.
10. I could not sleep a wink that night.

8. I could feel my hair stand on end as I froze in fright.
9. After getting a grip of myself, I bolted down the deserted street.
10. Although I met with no harm, the thought of the figure still haunts me like a nightmare till this very day.

8. The hilarious scene left her in stitches.
9. Mother choked back tears of happiness.
10. Father was over the moon when he heard the wonderful news.
